Meet Jaime

In January 2010, longtime MLA Kim Trew announced that, after nearly 25 years serving our community in the legislature, he will not be running again in the 2011 provincial election. In June 2010, I was honoured to be chosen as the next NDP candidate for Regina Coronation Park.

A little bit about me. My family and I settled in Regina after fleeing the civil war in El Salvador. My parents, Santos and Lucia, were determined to give us a better life and everything I am today I owe to them and the values they taught me—hard work, responsibility and compassion. Today, my father operates a successful travel business and my mother works as an accounting clerk at the Regina Public Library.

I grew up in Argyle Park where I attended O’Neill High School and met my wife, Kendra. We still live in Regina where we are raising our four children.

I work as a web designer at SGI. I speak out for my fellow workers as a Vice-President of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union. And I give back to the community as a volunteer and a soccer coach.

In the last few months, I’ve met many wonderful people. I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming months, listening to your concerns, and learning how I can be a strong voice for families like yours.
